As you probably know, all my plugins and themes started to require PHP 5.2 in order to run. PHP 5.2 was released on November, 02 2006 and now it is more than three year mature. I think that all serious providers had time enough to update their servers to this versions as from that date only PHP 5.2 or newer has been available from developers.
Really I would not rely on any operator that got stuck to old and obsolete PHP versions. Those versions are unmaintained, insecure and puts your site on an unnecessary risk. I would suggest you to ask your provider to switch to PHP 5.2 or newer, and if them don’t do it, then switch to a more serious provider. But please, don’t ask me to revert my software to those old PHP versions.
Always you will find the updated system requirements at the System Requirements page.
Just I started a new documentation site. There you will find all written documentation about themes and plugins. This is the best pace to start when you want to know more about using, extending or integrating with other plugins.
A link to the documentation site will be introduced in next plugin versions to have an easy way to access it.
Released Chameleon Theme 2.1. This new release includes a widget to allow users to change the theme color palette. Due to big issues releasing themes to WordPress site, you can download this new release on the theme’s download page.
We are working on a new site and trying to reorganize a bit this projects. After some time really busy in other projects, we want to come back with new releases, better code and a new framework for all our plugins; we are working on it. Also, we are working to make our plugins fully compatible with WordPress MU and the coming 2.9 release. Our plans include specific settings for MU. This requires some work, and just wanted you to know we are on it. Probably, the first plugin for MU will be Capability Manager, as we have some requests for that.
Also, we want to make some cosmetic changes to our site. This includes arranging a bit this site, work on a better integration and providing full documentation for all our developments. We know we have documentation a bit forgotten, and have to work on it.
We hope we will be able to get some new releases this year, but you know this is a free-time project, so it will depend on our free time to work on it.
Some of you have asked if I’m alive and my projects will continue being supported. Just a couple of lines to confirm that: I’m alive and all projects are supported. Reported bugs will be solved as usual and themes and plugins are always tested and working with latest WordPress versions.
Lately I’m so busy with some personal things and projects. One of them is based on a nice setup of WordPress MU + BuddyPress site, other is related to politics, as I’m involving and taking part in creating a new Catalan Party for next elections. All this must be done on my free time, so I have no so much for new features development. Hope I will have more time soon and I will continue developing new features on all my live plugins and themes.
Sorry if I cannot answer to support questions as I used to do. Sure you can understand I’m developing on my free time and this is really limited.
I’ve just ended my holidays. So, I will start answering my email and support questions just tonight. Please allow some time to get all questions answered as I have a lot of mails and questions. From now, I will attend the support questions as time permits. At this time, I’m a bit busy with some other projects and you know, first I have to attend my job and paid projects… (Everyone needs to work to live…).
